cold emails
I've been sending out emails - perhaps not always to the right people but I'm still optimistic that my stabs in the dark will resonate with whoever is on the other side.
Most times I've ever succeeded at establishing a contact it is done through introduction. The reason I sent an email to the African Development Bank is they were involved somehow in developing Africa via the G20 and there was a fund... I'm not going to bother going back to search for it.
But point is - I am probably not hitting the mark 'coz I do not know what they really want to achieve. But for the sake of keeping track... I'll document what I say and when I do it for review much later down the road once this whole process starts to yield some fruit.

I'm interested to learn more about how we can help you achieve your goals. We have just released an app that will help people find work. It's the Uber of the yellow pages to explain it in simple terms. Also a e-commerce platform. Launching in South Africa where we are testing the efficacy of the idea.
My thinking is our goals are aligned inasfar as trying to improve the lives of our fellow man here in Africa. We aim to have this be the first of many technology driven solutions so that we can create a platform from which people can uplift themselves.
I'll see if they ever get back. But so far very little luck but there is nothing lost by trying right?

I would like to find out what kind of companies you invest in. What are you looking for? I'm primarily interested in launching my app which requires a marketing budget. Normally I prefer to raise money by doing the job at hand. I find that's a expedient way to raise capital. I'm faced with a chicken before the egg scenario where I need to entice service providers onto the app before clients can actually hire them for their services. Only then can we earn our 10% commission.
