stress

I have not done any design work today. I was hitting the road hard today and it is exhausting. The normal wear and tear that I subject my mind and body to consists of waking up - sitting in front of my computer and occasionally get up to get sustenance by walking a max of 20m.

Driving sucks. Period! Traffic - road rage - and all the rest of it. Not for me!

But the evidence of my sloth nature is becoming unbearable. This gut that is protruding rather offensively from my body needs to be dealt with. I might actually start working out again. The gains I'll be able to enjoy include energy.

I miss feeling youthful. Just one day of true running around has left me irritable and exhausted. I'm only 28 for crying out loud! I should be able to do all this and keep my good nature intact. GOSH - I'm LAAAAME!

I did get a lot done today. Sorted out my drivers license issue. I got paint costs - for varnish and all that. Sent it through to Crage. But he wants it all over again. work work work. I should get all my info together and send it through to him again. I wish Dan was faster at giving me a quote. Why does it take SOOOO long?

Oh - I did get really upset at SAME-DAY printers. Two days it took them to do just a small batch of 100 biz cards. They didn't use the right printer and the results were less than desirable. I will scan them and have evidence for records sake. I want them to redo them using the lithograph printer.

It was really simple really. I rushed home yesterday from their offices so that Godfrey who was in town at that time could print them using the right lithograph printer. Apparently he wasn't answering his phone. So they didn't even bother to open the e-mail with the jpg that I had sent them. The thing is they were taking the art work and pasting it in corel and resizing it.

The integrity of the colours was horrible once they made a copy via snapshot method in adobe reader and pasting in corel. So I had to save the look of the cards. I tried.

I asked repeatedly if digital printing would do the trick - 'coz he said that it would - but I had my doubts. There was specific stuff done to the cards - png'd images of the text - with the right platinum gradient effect. But damn - the difference is startling.

So basically I'm gonna give them a verbose letter explaining how much they fucked up! They have to correct it.

But I'm never using them EVER AGAIN!! I mean it... EVER!

So Athi has gone to Dubai without her business cards and this opportunity to advertise her company in Dubai around the right clientele has been lost. I think she is attending some really expensive horse race or formula 1.

pfft - up until I can afford I'm not gonna worry myself with the going's on of the rich and famous. lol - what does that really mean?

Once I'm wealthy - I can see myself travelling with my dough - nothing extravagant. I think I grew out of it when I was still rolling in dough when I was much younger. Probably better that way.

Good thing that came out of meeting with Athi though is that her partner appears ready to get started. I just need to review what she wanted and then make sure I get it done. There is issues with payment as usual. Fuck! when will it ever end?

She says she only has half - which is 5K - but... then she wants to pay the balance from the first pay check. I'm only going to give her 8 weeks grace period and I think that is ridiculously generous. Time to go through all the work that needs to be done.
