back and forth

It is never as straight forward as you first imagine it to be. You would think that all you have to do is provide a service and people will come flocking and happily pay you for your skills.

What ends up happening is you find there is no formula that will be followed every time. In practice - it is difficult to get someone to pay you a deposit. LOL - I know - forever about that - but somehow, it's stuck in my head that is the way things are meant to be. Athi is having some art even - tells me that the poster shouldn't take long - 'coz she has designed the damn thing already. Why does that piss me off? She doesn't know what it takes and it took 2 hours in total to get it done.

Well - she wanted the borders gone and which is fair enough - 'coz I added them in as an after thought and then she wanted the white background. I could have done it that way properly - but I was resistant to doing any more work on it - since I have very little faith that she'll pay. After the relationship we have had where I have basically done over 10K worth of work for free & she should be able to get the business up and running so she can pay me she has done naught. There are many layers of reasons why I'm not a fan of her at the moment - but she has to prove to me that she can do it.

This is the one that was finally approved. I think it does the job.

I need to separate personal and business issues to succeed so this is good practice. But I really feel used and that's not helpful to my confidence. She should just start running the concierge company and start making paper. Look after her partner Linah and raise some funds to pay me. That was the plan - many months of work and it doesn't stop. I'm going to invoice her real prices - I think she needs to be motivated in some way. I have been patient enough.

One thing to her credit is she has payed for the business cards and although the were done in a really shitty manner - I think the matter has been rectified and she should have some good looking cards soon.
