when it rains...

It all started with anxious curiosity. Anthony Mandishona said he was sending through his business plan for critiquing to his people who do such things. Having more or less self taught himself Actuarial consultation I figured he would probably know how to make it all come together and I wanted to be part of it.

Aside from not having a lot of work on my plate - except for the odd thing here and there - I really wanted to sink my teeth into something meaty. And that's exactly what I've got now. He has a project that goes by the name of iKhaya Labantu and I am decidedly working at risk on the project to help him get the funding he needs. As of now I am really behind in terms of delivering all the images he requested of the shack designs for his presentation which is going to happen this coming Monday.

Sketch up is the answer in this regard and with the help of the v-ray render it shouldn't be too much trouble to whip some really interesting forms before he really needs them.

His room-mate Crage Anthony - born in Jamaica seams to me a very enterprising individual. He is opening a clothing boutique store in Illovo and he needs me to do the retail design. I had initially started on the logo - which I hope to remember to upload so I can see what it is I did in future when i want to take stock of the happenings in the create life of me.
I have neglected this blog due to being tired and mostly not being able to motivate myself to find time to actually upload - but I remembered that I orchestrate the way the day unfolds and here I am doing what I know I must be doing. I think these sketches helped convince him that I could do the job. I had shown him some other work - animation flythroughs of past projects and now I have to live up to the expectations that I have given him. This sketch above me was one of the initial sketches I did in the exploration of the large perimeter wall on the left as you enter the store. I am still working on it and I have some sketches via sketch-up and Simukai has done some Maya work. Which looks really good. I think I owe it to myself to master 3d studio max so I am a bit more self sufficient and I think the program is far superior to Maya since that's all the literature seams to suggest in terms of compatability with Revit Architecture. I think Maya's strong suit lies in it's character animation and I need not mess with it for the time being although what I've seen Simz do is rather impressive.

I wish I had more time but I am hungry and I want to clear space on my computer hardrives since I have 3gigs left on the main one. 8 gigs on the Z drive and 14gigs free on the external. I am clearing the small 60gig hardrive where I am going to store all the archive projects. I hope to one day clean them up and make them more organised and keep all the relevant info.

There is more stuff that I have - like logo's and drawings - but there is always tomorrow I guess. I'm hungry too. damn. There is a lot of work to do though. Lots or work - it's pouring and I like it.
