creative time

So I think I have the gig.

I have been plagued by uncertainty, and piss poor internet connectivity and basically a lot not going my way.

I sent Crage the quotation through on the weekend and say about Friday and I was then supposed to show him conceptual sketches of the shop.

I would much prefer to do things the normal way which is to get a deposit for any work before I commence pushing the mouse around. But as Crage later told me it's part of the risk we have to take for being self employed. LOL - which is basically as good as being unemployed at the worst of times.

Well - here I am with 4k in the hand - but none of it is deposit for the work that I am going to be doing. I need to look at the situation properly with eye's unclouded and figure this out.
It's pretty simple really. I want to be paid a fair price and I already agreed to just less than the two interior design ladies that he recently fired.
But nothing concrete has been decided.
LOL - I guess I am going to have to push this gingerly but not too aggressively. First thing that has to be established is how much the two ladies were going to get paid. I am going to need to receive a copy of the quotation that he had received from them.

Well below is the shop as it is but I'm going to be doing some demo work. Promises to be a lot of fun!

I was hesitant to actually get off my butt and sketch this display cabinet as I didn't feel like Crage was coming to the party. He had stopped calling as frequently and showed a great disinterest in what I had to offer. BLA!
But I got my fat ass in gear and did the right thing and I was ready by Monday. Unfortunately - it took until Wednesday evening around 10pm for him to see it.
But the discussion we had was fruitful. Now all I have to do is just make it work.

These cards above were made for Crage - but I don't think he is going to use them. More wasted effort or perhaps it wasn't - but he should have printed one of them by now I think. Crage made it sound like he really wanted business cards desperately and this is what he had asked for - but based on the price he rejected the idea completely. Clearly I have failed to communicate to him effectively.

It appears I have somehow offended Anthony. I asked him for payment in some form - and I suggested being a small partner in the venture seeing as he has no capital to pay me for the work that I was doing. 'coz at the end of the day - I would like to see some sort of return on work being done.

I can not work for free & his response was a bit left field for me. He came through and requested that his file be deleted - which I did and he took his books. I wonder if he is still going to be using the lil hut I modeled yesterday. Oh well - I hope that he makes it.

It should work - despite him being a bit brash - I think the vision for the project will overcome that tiny character flaw. I wonder if I did anything wrong. moving on.

I have Crages shop to build and then the Barefoot university to complete. Should keep me busy for a bit.
