Defining the issue
There are many pressing issues and challenges facing my African people, and addressing them requires a multifaceted approach that involves both domestic and international alignment. Some of the most pressing issues and proposals to tackle them are:
Poverty: According to the World Bank, about 40% of Africans live in extreme poverty. Addressing this issue requires efforts to create jobs and promote economic growth, particularly in rural areas. This can be achieved through investing in infrastructure, education, and healthcare, and promoting small and medium-sized enterprises. I believe this calls for us to organise our human capital. The question should be formulated around how do we best organise ourselves. How do we become more productive as a united body that looks beyond the artificial boundaries of country to maximise the utility of being an African. I'm an ardent believer of enterprise being the answer to Africa's poverty. We can eliminate poverty by applying ourselves to solving our many issues. Manufacturing a solar value chain to tackle our energy poverty is an example of the line of thinking we must employ, as every negative issue we face as a continent is an opportunity for commerce to redress and make some wine from these sour grapes.
Conflict and political instability: Many African countries have experienced long-standing conflicts and political instability, which hinder economic growth and development. Addressing this issue requires building strong institutions, promoting good governance and transparency, and addressing the root causes of conflicts. I believe we ought to formulate a system of self governance that is meritocratic. I believe a hybrid of the Chinese & American government structure would be of great benefit to the continent. The structure that allowed Xi Jinping to become president from humble beginnings is what I believe we should employ here on the continent. We'd all need to work out what systems to apply throughout the continent - like Federal laws in the states - but allow for the states to govern themselves as they do in the USA. We need to form a United States of Africa. Gadaffi was onto something. We need to finish that work sooner than later.
Health: Africa faces a range of health challenges, including high rates of infectious diseases such as HIV/AIDS, malaria, and tuberculosis, as well as non-communicable diseases such as diabetes and cardiovascular disease. Addressing these issues requires investing in healthcare infrastructure and promoting preventative measures such as vaccinations and disease screening. Research and Development is far behind on the continent. There is a plethora of African remedies to be brought into the 21st Century & we ought to develop a pharmaceutical industry comparable to the best humanity has to offer throughout the continent. We have an opportunity to leapfrog & count ourselves as contributors to the advancement of humanity.
Education: Education is crucial for economic development and social mobility, but many African countries struggle with low literacy rates and limited access to quality education. Addressing this issue requires investing in education infrastructure, promoting teacher training, and increasing access to educational resources. A means to increase the remuneration educators receive is imperative for the rapid dissemination of information. However ivy league institutions operate with a small difference is perhaps the solution for African education. The educators must be incorporated as co-owners of the institution and here are 4 ways that can happen. Employee stock ownership plans (ESOPs) An ESOP would be a federally regulated retirement plan (similar to a 401k) that puts stocks into a trust on behalf of employees without requiring them to buy it. Worker cooperatives. Employee ownership trust (EOT) & Stock plans. (this clearly needs a better mind than mine to flesh out - but one should look @ the Curro Model & paint it with this brush & spread the (using best practice) school throughout the continent)
Climate change and environmental degradation: Africa is particularly vulnerable to the impacts of climate change and environmental degradation, which can exacerbate existing challenges such as food insecurity and water scarcity. Addressing this issue requires promoting sustainable development practices, investing in renewable energy, and addressing deforestation and desertification. The financial cost of environmental degradation is quantifiable & as such implies someone is affected. Those affected parties should thus be in a position to marshal their finances to mitigate further environmental degradation. I must phrase this next part as a wish... which goes as follows. I wish for there to be a means for us to protect and care for our soil, water air, flora & fauna . A holistic system that feeds people in an earth friendly manner. Permaculture principals applied on a continental level would see Africa living in abundance. (This needs to be formulated into a how to guide and implemented)
Addressing the challenges facing Africa requires a sustained effort from governments, civil society, and international organizations. Nothing in my opinion is going to be more effective than commerce. It is commerce that will drive governments, civil society and international organizations. It is crucial to work together to address these issues and promote economic growth, social development, and environmental sustainability on the continent.
