Conflict @ the plot
Today started rather well save for the bs the cops tried to pull. Got the truck running at the butt crack of dawn. Thanks Caleb. Shirley - my agricultural extension officer came on time, and I offloaded my long list of requests that range from sourcing / identifying indigenous medicinal plants and herbs and edible fruit bearing trees. To where I can get permits for propergating protected plant species.
I also need to get a vermiculture bed design from her people at the Agricultural Research Center , among other things. I have decided a proper site analysis is in order. So I'm on the hunt for all the maps I can get a hold of... from soil maps - contour and any other maps I can find.

Errands took the rest of the morning. The guys at the electric shop ordered the wrong security lights so I will wait for Friday.
Got some duckweed from the aquarium pet store. And picked up Alex - from his shop in Diepsloot. Got pap for lunch from which I'm still full. And all was right with the world.
One of the two day labourers has been on edge from the start and he is a bit to agro for my liking. I guess I should have seen it coming given that yesterday he was dragging his feet.
But i figured he would realise that he is digging his own grave since we warned him he was not earning a daily wage. We agreed on terms on the garden patch I asked for. Mama didn't raise no fool and dragging Ur feet on a daily wage mission is the oldest trick in the book. And Caleb warned him he wasn't going to get paid extra for delaying the work done by a day.
Next thing I have Pertunia (the maid) calling me in a panic telling me there is a fight outside. I ran... Ready to throw down. But this dude was only about huffing a puffing. So I called the cops. I don't wanna have a situation where he feels he has to exact some form of vengeance on us, simply 'coz I failed to control the situation. I don't need that kinda energy around then plot.

He left the neighborhood before I emerged from the call to the police in the office - he was long gone. Hopefully for good. He did promise to shoot Caleb if he didn't get his money. I'm just hoping it is what I think it is and he ain't coming back for some twisted revenge for his imagined slight.
That brings me back to the BS the cops tried to pull today. Spencer - who is responsible for erecting the pillars got arrested for not carrying his identification documents.
OK fine. He is here illegally, but he is working for me and I have a plan on getting all the staff who haven't got their documents. But that will be next year. I have made sure not to let them know my plan - otherwise they'll treat it like its something I owe them.
The cop shop is 15km away. I sent Caleb to sort it out. He came back with the cops who had Spencer in the back. They were obviously looking for a bribe. I berated them for harassing an honest hard working man and eventually walked away empty handed. He showed me the fine he got from them and it was for jaywalking. That just tells me they are afraid of being labeled xenophobic. Assholes.

Apart from that lil none sense it was a really good day.
